How to Become a Mobile Notary in Mississippi

The Commission Is Step One

Business activities are restricted to 20% of your home's heated/cooled square footage, capped at 500 square feet.

Check with your specific city and county before assuming your home office is compliant. Rural areas outside city limits typically have fewer restrictions but still require the county privilege license.

Travel Fees and Income

Mississippi's $5 statutory fee cap applies only to the notarial act itself — per signature for acknowledgments, jurats, and witnessed signatures. The state does not regulate travel fees.
